I-Phone: Trainyard App

This has to be one of the most interesting games in the "puzzle" genre on the iphone. I love how simple and easy it is to understand, and yet it presents a challenge at the higher levels into the game.

Try it and Rate it.

Must Watch: Boardwalk Empire

I was never interested in Lost (sucks), Prison Break (even though i admit it was good), and the other hyped up shows. I was more into Rome, The tudors, Spartacus, Heroes. Its been a while since a show came and actually had an interesting plot with history and i LOVE history, here comes a MUST WATCH show.

Watch it and tell me what you think. The first episode was directed by Martin Scorscese (The Departed, Good Fellas) and it cost around $10,000,00. just for the first episode. Very detailed, authentic,, i loved it.

WTF of the Day

This magazine was found in the "Mubarak Hospital".

For those who dont understand Arabic, the Main Title of this magazine is "Wishing for Death"

What a delightful thing to read in a hospital. Just goes to show you two things:
1) No one reads these magazines thats why no one bothered to remove it.
2) The Editor is depressed, needs help and hes trying to reach out to people. In an unorthodox way.

Peace.

R&R

A much needed R&R as i wait for calls to come from my job interviews. As well as i needed to get away from society and i really need time to start atleast getting down to brainstorming for my book, which is something im doing for myself as a passion rather than a career path. i love stories, i love to hear, read and tell them.
And what better way to get inspired than this view?

See you soon all you wonderful people.

Finding a Job

I just wanted to share with you guys the last bit of conversation that occurred during my second interview with ZAIN today, to have a sense of why im still clueless as to why im yet to be unemployed...

Interviewer: I like you alot, best out of all the people came in my office.
Me: Thank You.

Interviewer: You have a sense of maturity and awareness the others didnt have.
Me: Thank you, very kind of you.

Interviewer: If it were up to me, i would hire on the spot, you'd fit in the team quickly, i sense you have a great adaptability rate.
Me: Sign me up, wheres the contract?

Interviewer: Unfortunately...
Me: AHAAA !! there you are you little bastard... the "unfortunate" part...

Interviewer: The timing of employment is not up to me, and their are other people i have to see, its part of the process, i cant give you 100%..blah..blah..blah...... BUT i really like you, we connected..
Me: yeah yeah yeah, you can stick that connection up your a$$.

So fellow camels, i have t wait for inevitable call that will go like this:
"Dear Mr.Funky, we regret to inform you we cannot at this time employ you in the position you applied for, but keep trying MWAHAHAHA."

TTYL...

Driving Hazards in Kuwait...Other than DEATH

This weekend i headed to the Chalet as usual, but i had to stop at a few points to do some errands. During these "few" stops, i went through so many emotions and decided that i had to make the public aware of the hazards of driving OTHER than the fact of getting into an accident or god forbid, Death. And here they are:

- Anger Management: pretty hard to manage with those idiots around you.
- Diabetes: dont know why but they do it to you.
- High Blood pressure: a famous symptom.
- Foul Mouth Disease: You tend to curse alot.
- Blame Game: you get blamed for your driving from other drivers due to the fact of the existing idiot ahead of you which they dont notice.

These are a few, please feel free to add what you believe to be other HAZARDOUS symptoms.

Dust off my hump back im back fellow herd !!! (hey, that rhymed)

Quoting Robin Williams "GOOD MORNING VIETNAM!!!"
well, we're not in vietnam, but you get the idea. Im back and lets hope for good, i have been extremely busy since my last post.... i even thought i wouldnt be blogging again (i know, hard to believe?) But rest assured i am back, and i will be keeping the funk.
Well let me explain my absence.... i had my last year of University to concentrate on PLUS an annoying part time job which i QUIT !!! :D (what no standing ovation and congratulations?) i have been going through a very tough year and extreme pressure (whos playing the violin in the background? please stop.) I quit my job in May, Graduated in July.. needed some MAJOR R&R (rest & relaxation for those of you who didnt know) Busy with Ramadhan ofcourse (who isnt?) had to do the usual custom of going around Kuwait Dowaneyas shaking hands and congratulating them for living to see another Ramadhan and giving them blessings for their wonderful hospitality and reminding them to remind me that i will remember them in my prayers, and that they should remember me as well... its complicated, but neccessary none the less.
I put on a few pounds, went to London during the Eid break, lost those few pounds and more. Got back to Kuwait, and those pounds came back with re-inforcements, ALOT of re-inforcements.

So all in all, a busy 6 months or so and now im looking for a job (more like waiting for the acceptance since they completely had me going on there that i had it)

So... lets see whats new & uninteresting in K-Town and ill be back with yet another post and look from the usual ironic and sarcastic view. Which i totally love.

FOOD REVIEW: Munch

Even though the place might be a little old, but it was my first time trying it out. The only thing "Munch" offered to my liking was the location at Dar Al-Awadhi complex, it was isolated, empty, just how i like a place to be. It was a slow night like usual, and i decided its been a hectic two weeks with exams and work so i asked my brother lets go out for a night out and try some new food.
So by the posts headline, we headed to "Munch" and here was what we ordered:
Me: Spiced Pumpkin, Italian Sirloin sandwich.
My Brother: Crab Avocado Salad, Buffalo Cheese sandwich with sun dried tomatoes.
of course we shared the sandwiches and starters to get a taste of diversity.
Verdict:
Spiced Pumpkin: we do it better at home.
Crab Avocado Salad: Dry & Tasteless.
Italian Sirloin: Quite good actually, i liked the sirloin itself but not the combo with the sauce.
Buffalo Cheese: pure bread and wheat, no sign of the cheese or taste of flavor.

RATING: 2/5 - the 1 just for its location, and the other 1 for the piece of sirloin.

A New Year to remember. Happy 2010

Well this turned out to be a New Year i definitely wont forget. To start things off, i have to admit i was not looking forward to 2010, in a way i was kind of depressed, mainly because i had a weekend shift and all that crap. Luckily my family had booked a chalet at the Hilton Mangaf Resort for the new year and our neighbors were our long time friends whom we have known for more than 20 years, and my parents for 30, so it was planned out to be relaxing.
It turned out to be a great new year weekend at the Hilton and we had a good laugh, and i really enjoyed myself (albeit the arrival of "Kuwait's Worst" group on new years eve). At the end of Saturday, knowing that tomorrow morning was check out time, i was in high spirits and ready for 2010. But 2010 had a big reality shocker for me.
Today i had a football game at one of the Bnied Al Gar football pitches ( as always on Sundays), as i left the pitch after the game i found that my car had a broken window, and i think i had my first feeling of "shit why now" of 2010.
My car had been robbed, my new 3GS i-phone and my wallet with the cash inside, and i cursed and shouted for the first time in 2010.

But i learned a valuable lesson, never take things for granted like saying we're in Kuwait nothings wrong with leaving the car working while you head inside or something that makes you leave the car alone running. And always keep an eye out for your personal belongings.

You always here the stories of theft or such out of the ordinary cases, and you always think that it might happen to someone, but not you. What you do not realize is that you're a "someone" to someone else, so stay safe fellow camels and happy 2010.
